Gideon's Bday and other news

This is long overdue--a recap of Gideon's birthday. I told Jace today that February is full for birthdays, so any other children need to come at a different time.

This is the face he makes when we ask him to smile.

mmmm.....chocolate cupcakes by request of Gideon.
Gideon saying "cupcake!"

Blowing out candles.

Elise's cupcakes were cute, but not so tasty with the "strawberry" frosting. This time we put taste first and cute second. They were chocolate with sprinkles topped with real whipped cream and more sprinkles.

Gideon with his chocolate ice cream and cupcake. Happy as a little boy can be.

We have the bday decorating figured out--balloons on the sideboard.
Elise laughing with Daddy.

She thinks he is so funny.
Can't have birthday pictures without a food-on-the-face shot.
We made a scavenger hunt for Gideon to find his birthday present. His first clue...

A picture of my Lori Mitchell pirate, which took him to the mantle...
Where he found his next clue....
a picture of a TV. On the tv was a picture of a lamp on a dresser...
what do you know! There's a big present waiting for Gideon.
Time to open the present.

Elise helping out.
When Gideon opened it he said "Oh, it's a pirate ship!" in his excited toddler voice. Very cute.

Elise was very interested in the pirate ship.

The ship has cannons that shoot out cannon balls. Jace was helping Gideon.

Gideon was supposed to be in the picture, so here I am with his new present. :)

There he is.

Elise likes putting her fingers in my mouth. She usually just sticks her finger between my lips and yanks down.

Elise joins the photo session.

And Gideon is gone. Cute picture of baby girl.
There's our little guy smiling. It's so hard to catch it with the camera.
And another big smile from Elise. Gideon was enjoying his new pirate ship.

Hey, there's our cute little birthday boy.

I'm going to call it a night.
