Shoe Therapy

So I ran out of photo space on my other blog. We'll see how this goes.

I'll be posting photos from Gideon's birthday next week. Moving to a new blog and the new post took most of the night!

Elise cracking herself up

This set of photos is dated Feb 3 2009. Elise at lunch again. She started swaying back and forth laughing.

Then she bent over to the side like she was trying to do a cartwheel. Laughed even harder.

And repeat. We were laughing too. She's such a happy little girl.

Is this normal?

These photos are dated Jan 17, 2009. We were eating lunch, and Elise was eating a plastic golf ball from the set given us by Aunt Amy and Uncle Greg. She was cramming them in her mouth. I thought she might start choking on it, and popped it out. She squawked in protest and crammed it back in. To each his own...

Last Sunday--February 8th

Jace stayed home from church with the kids last Sunday. Jace was sick and the kids coughs sounded like seals. They found a box and climbed in. Elise had a little help from her Daddy. I think these are sweet pictures.

I don't know how to rotate this photo, just tilt your head to the left. :)

Love this photo of Elise!

And this one...she's such a sweetie. Can you tell I'm her Mom?

This pretty much captures her little personality. Can you believe she's sick? She has her baby moments, but I'm surprised by her cheerful nature.

We have a photo from my SIL Marli that shows her and Jace about this age. Marli is in a brown paper bag and Jace is standing next to her. It's just adorable. This reminds me of that photo. BTW, that's Gideon's "Troy McClure" smile.

Shoe Therapy

I just finished writing in my journal about my horrible, awful, and very long day with the kids on Friday. I won't bore you with the details. Here are the broad strokes--Elise was sick, Gideon
didn't take a nap all day, the house was a mess, I was exhausted, and an hour before I was hoping to "clock out" for a little break (7:30pm) Jace received a call from a neighbor reminding us that we were on the schedule to clean the church that night. Jace left to go clean and I put the kids down to bed. Needless to say, it was one of the hardest days with the kids I've had in a long time. Later that night 12am, then 1am, then 2 am, the kids were up crying and congested, so we didn't get to bed until 3am. Fun.

The silver lining in all of this is that I found some great shoes! What is it about women and shoes? Who doesn't love a great pair or several for that matter. After the kids were down, about 8pm, I headed for the office and thought I'd just spent 15 minutes browsing, it ended up being an hour. I thought I needed to do something fun before starting on my long "to do" list. Nordstrom was my first stop. Oh, I should mention that this was fantasy window shopping. But if I find any deals for these beautiful creations, that might change. Shoe therapy works! I felt much better afterwards.

The Frye 'Amy' Sandal was sold out and on sale at Nordstrom

But I found zappos.com. I think they carry every brand of shoe. They had the shoe in several colors in my size. Yea! Am I the last person on the planet to find them? Where have I been?

Kork-Ease 'Ava II' Sandal

I think I can hear my mom laughing as I post these pictures. Are these too '70s?

I like this sandal because it looks nice as well as comfortable. I could wear it all day and it would give me a few inches of height for my jeans. At 5'2", I can use a few extra inches.

Kork Ease sells some nicer looking sandals, but I just need everyday, running-errands, kind of sandals.

I saw these in the Sundance catalog. The model was wearing them with jeans and I like them. Definitely an around town shoe.

And now here are the finds from www.zappos.com, my new favorite shoe store, free shipping AND free returns. Wow! (I'm not getting paid to say that, just a fan.)

Drum roll please...

Frye Harness 12R-zappos.com

Um, I love these. (Jace just saw these and said "Why don't we just get some cows?" I'm glad he doesn't pick out my shoes.) I'd wear them all the time--except for the hot days when I'd have my "ava" sandals on. I've been looking for boots for awhile and found a lot of beautiful pairs, but they didn't look like they look nice after a year or two. And these already look a few years old.:) If these are sold out before I buy them, I'll be wondering if one of you beat me to it!

Frye Rachael Double Strap-Zappos (sold out in my size!)

If you happen to have these shoes in your closet and don't want them anymore...let me know, I'd love to get them. They're sold out everywhere!

Ok, here are a few more, I saw these and thought "What do I need to hawk to get these?" For those of you who don't know, red is my favorite color. So it's funny that all of the following are red shoes. I already have 3 pair of red dress shoes. So here's the rest of the wish list:

I love the red boots! (And Jace is glad we can't afford them.)

Anyone looking for a deal? $354.95 marked down to $194.80! Ha! But if you'll be wearing them for several years they might pay for themselves...

I could go on, but I'll stop here.
